Welcome "Cookies"

We'd like to introduce the newest member of the family, "Cookies" as he was named by L.  At first he wanted to call him "Fire Trucks" but we figured we needed to do better than that.

We are now into Day 7 (I will post pics of where he was each day) so L looks for him every day.  Cookies is pretty creepy....at least his eyes are.

Cookies is a very well behaved little elf - at least for the moment - I'd like to keep it that way until L is older.  Don't want him to think that hanging from the ceiling fan is a good idea.....

Enjoy!

December 1st

December 2nd

L. was not very happy about this one.....he was pretty pissed actually that Cookies had taken his cup and pretzels.

December 3rd

December 4th

This is L's Fire Pole.  He watches way too much Fireman Sam and feels the need to slide down a fire pole.....I guess this is the next best thing.  We try and not let him do it but he's too sneaky!  Cookies wanted to give it a try.....probably did more harm than good.

December 5th

Why hello snowman!

December 6th

Cookies wanted us to play Jingle Bells.....

December 7th

Keeping an eye on baby Jesus....

Will post more pics as the days go on......Merry Christmas!

Check in

So the mouse is still loose in the office and we almost had a squirrel come in from the cold, but thankfully he ran out quickly.

And I have my first big off-site meeting tomorrow, wish me luck!

Grab a chair....

So I actually have a funny story from today.

I was sitting at my desk, doing my Monday duties (payroll, scheduling, etc....) and I kept hearing this "clicking" noise. It was FREEZING in the office this morning so I figured it was the heat coming on.

After a while I kept hearing it. No big deal but I didn't feel that the office was getting any warmer.

I said something to my co-worker just to make sure I wasn't dreaming. She heard it too. I looked under a table from where the noise was coming from and saw vents, so I figured once again that it was the heat coming on.

The day goes on and every now and then I would hear it, but I really wasn't paying too much attention.
After awhile another co-worker had come back from her meeting. I heard it again and asked her if she did too. She did and asked, "what is that?" I said, "I think it's a heater." Then she said, "what heater?" I said, "the one that's under the table over there....."
She looked under the table and said, "that's not a heater, that's a mouse trap!" I didn't believe her, I saw the vents, I had looked under the table already!
As she pulled the table out, she said, "no, that's a mouse trap." I looked down and noticed that whatever the contraption was, it wasn't attached to the wall. I pulled on it just to make sure and then I saw it......It's nose pointing out of a whole in the back. It was DEFINITELY a mouse! I jumped backwards and ran in the other direction.

We grabbed someone else in the office, but he didn't want to take it outside in fear of being "charged" for the trap. Totally understandable. We ended up calling the exterminator. "One will be out shortly." (well I left at 5:45 and no one had come yet)

After about twenty minutes and the trap was still there, I noticed that no clicking was coming out of it. It was completely silent.

We got someone else who had no qualms about taking it outside and dumping it. Although he came back five minutes later and said that it was empty.

Empty?

EMPTY? No way! I saw him! I heard him! And I wasn't the only one! There is no way that it should have been empty.

And now we have a mouse running around.

GREAT!

Needless to say I didn't get much work done for the rest of the day.
