Well I know that can't happen, it would be too weird to have fall leaves and crisp cool weather in July. Oh well, I have to move on.
I don't really know why I'm even complaining, I am sitting in my living room with the air conditioner on, the a/c on in the bedroom with the fan blowing, circulating the air throughout...waiting for the storm to hit.
I'm not so worried about the storm hitting us, b/c it's really only going to "clip" us with rain and wind. More worried about my parents. On the Cape. Alone. By themselves, although they do have the cat.
They will be fine, I have to keep telling myself that. They really are perfectly capable of taking care of themselves. It's just they are getting older (D is 77, M is 66). Where is the closest child you ask? ME - 110 miles away. They do have neighbors, who I hope keep look out (even from a distance...) But I still worry. Most likely I'll be calling them every hour.....
So anyways, back to summer being over. I feel like Mr. G and I have been out straight for months and it just keeps on going....tomorrow is the UMASS vs. Holy Cross game, here in Worcester. Tailgating will commence at 10am at Freshman Field for those who would like to join us.
The nacho dip has been made and is in the fridge, the liquor is out and ready to go, the butter is currently "softening" for chocolate chips cookies (from scratch), the steaks are on their way and I'm sure that the others are happily cooking/getting ready. AND Mr. G went to pick up Chinese Food for dinner.
Funny story actually from Mr. G's 4th grade class: It was really hot today right? So imagine what it's like in an old school building with no a/c......A student was blowing herself (not exactly sure what that entailed, but I can picture it.) and spoke up at one point saying, "Mr. G! Do you want to get blowed?".....
......And I digress.
GO UMASS!!
